Dear Yarn Friends, At Happyknits, we’ve got a lot to be happy about. We’ve got new projects in the works, new yarn coming in and, best of all, we have all of you to share it with. Next week, we’ll especially be celebrating this Big Blue Marble we inhabit and the generous support we get from you at our little brick and mortar shop. |
Earth Day is coming up next week! To celebrate, from Tuesday through Saturday, April 23-27, we’ll be offering all of our Urth yarn and kits at 15% off. Urth Yarns plants a tree for every skein of yarn sold, which makes their yarns doubly good! Come see the gorgeous colors of Uneek and Monokrom Fingering we have in the shop. |
The Urth sock kits come in children’s and adult sizes. Each kit makes a pair of identical (and very fun) socks. |
And then on Saturday, April 27th, we invite you to join other yarn lovers for Local Yarn Store Day. On this day, folks from all over the country have an opportunity to show support for their local (Hello!) brick and mortar yarn shops. We’re planning a big yarn sale, free pattern giveaways with yarn purchases and a prize drawing. And, weather permitting, join us for outdoor knitting/crocheting from 1-3. BYO chair. We’re sampling a couple of the patterns to be given away. |
We’re making up this knitted slip stitch cowl for LYS Day using 2 colors of Dulce, a worsted weight yarn from Berroco. Berroco is offering this pattern free with the purchase of yarn. There will also be a crochet version available. |
The pattern for this Casapinka cowl will be another LYS Day giveaway. We’ve got it in the works here using fingering weight yarns from Maine Yarn & Fiber and Hauteknits, both sourced from Maine.
Mark your calendars for this year’s Maine Fiber Frolic set for Saturday and Sunday, June 1 and 2. It’s always a fun event to attend, with an array of vendors, good food and interesting demonstrations.
If you’re looking for a little change of pace for this year, they’re looking for volunteers to help out.
We hope you can join us! Sarah, MaryLou and Amanda |
