This month I have 2 yarns on YOTM:  Araucania Lontue and Araucania Ruca (solid and multy).

~Araucania Lontue is a light fingering, 3 ply, 50%cotton, 50% linen. It comes in a 50 gram hank with 249 yards. It gives 5 sts/in on US sz 6. ~Araucania Ruca (solid and multy) is a DK weight, 8 ply, 100% plant fiber from sugar cane. It comes in a 100 gram hank with 263 yards. It gives 5.5 sts/in on US sz 4-6.
Both yarns are unique and I have seen some beautiful knits with them. Nice summer yarns!
Well, Spring is almost over and the Summer Solstice is upon us. The first day of Summer this 2013 is June 21st, a Friday. Wow…I am not sure what to think about that. I am hoping for a nice relaxing Summer, busy with fun Summerish activities, but I am thinking about how quickly the time passes….*sigh*.   Live each day to the fullest, I guess. Anyway…the Summer Solstice marks the day when Summer Hours at Happyknits take effect. Starting June25th, I will be back on Tuesdays!! So the Summer hours are the same as the Spring, add Tuesday  9:30am-5:30pm.
WWKIP Day/WEEK, begins this Saturday, June 8th. Here’s the link: WWKIP stands for World Wide Knit in Public Day/Week. I will be knitting in Public here at Happyknits on Saturday, and if the weather is nice, I may go right outside where the whole world can see me!!!! Total rebel. Join me or find a place and someone special to hang around in public with and click some needles! Take pictures….send ’em to me or post ’em on my Facebook page if you do that sort of thing.
Coincidentally, this Saturday is also IYB Day!! lYB stands for International Yarn Bombing Day!! Do it….go totally bonkers….get all knitty and stuff 🙂 If you’d like to come knitting with me, we could work on some funky bombs and graffiti the crap out of the Farmer’s Market or the Grist Mill. Don’t tell anyone though….it’s all incog-knit-o you know.
