Soooo…my biggest challenge is remembering to put the dang open sign up! We are open! Store Hours are 10-6pm Tuesday through Saturday, Knit Night Wednesday 5-8pm. More information on classes to come…
I am a counselor at Youth & Family Services, Inc. I am actively working on creating a place for individuals and families in recovery from any addiction (alcohol, drugs, food, gambling, etc.) can join recovery supportive events, activities and groups.
One of the most important components to successful recovery is changing behaviors from destructive beahviors, to healthful, positive and productive/skill-building activities. This allows one to find fulfillment in their daily activities, without isolating and eventually becoming lonely and returning to old social crowds and habits.
I personally enjoy knitting and am excited about your shop opening in our community. I PROMISE I do intend on checking this out, in the near future.
I was wondering if you would be willing to help us get a knitting group (likely for beginners) started at our Community Recovery Support Center, 5 Commerce Drive, Skowhegan. We are non-profit, and at this time, very limitted on funding. Therefore, we will also be looking for local vendors to donate items that may be used in social activities (tax deductible for donor) and we would be happy to share thier flyers at the center, and mention them as being a supporter in our community efforts for wellbeing for children and families.
If you would like to help us out in any way, or have suggestions where we may access other resources, please call me at your earliest convenience at 474-8311, or email me at wendy.corson@yfsinc.org.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I wish you the best in your new endeavor and am looking forward to being a customer.
